Bureau Mirko Borsche presents the FUzE
DAS FUzE is a series of art events merging different art forms, creative genres and the talents of many and varied artists this summer in Munich. Right underneath the streets of Munich, Bureau Mirko Borsche will stage this experimental project in a funky, voluminous and long-disused show-space beneath illustrious Maximiliansstrasse, the city’s luxury main street.
Designers Mirko Borsche, Lea Häfliger and Andri Bischoff will create a unique setting for the FUzE’s performances spread over five weeks in the underground MaximiliansForum. Using scores of giant coffin-like raw pine boxes, they will create an installation echoing the neoclassical ambience of Munich’s famous buildings. Unlike, the solid buildings above, the FUzE’s monumental urban scenery has an expiry date – the wooden boxes used in the elusive installation will be returned to their original creators.
Bureau Mirko Borsche commissioned the 170 boxes from physically and mentally challenged people in the sheltered workshop of Fendsbach, a special community designed with their needs in mind.
The season’s highlights of the FUzE are:
The Cue: Three different configurations of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra will perform together with DJ Jonas Imbery aka Telonius of famed electro label Gomma Records.
The Words: Poems of Munich-based writer Sabine Magnet will be printed on banners and boxes in the MaximiliansForum, visualized by Mirko Borsche, as the events of the two previous evenings’ are projected in the exhibition space.
The Encore: An evening to unite the participants in FUzE. All of the artists will be perform their unique pieces once again, but together and simultaneously. It is the Fuze’s final farewell party, celebrating this unique meeting of artistic disciplines.
